Feeling stiff, weak, or a burning sensation in the back of the heel and lower leg.
A common cause of this is the use of incorrect shoes and/or insoles.
This leads to improper alignment of your feet and body, which results in extra stress being put in the Achilles tendon.
The Achilles tendon is connected to the calf muscle. The distance between the start of the Achilles and where it connects to the calf is important. The longer the distance, the more tension and pulling of the tendon. A shorter distance creates slack and less tension.
When your foot alignment, is off due to lack of proper fitting support or pronation, (natural tilt of your foot that rolls inward or outward) the distance is lengthened.
Correctly supporting the foot minimizes the distance and relieves the pain.
